Fouls

If soccer's laws are not clear to you, you can find out more by reading about them. Some fouls are obvious. Others are more subtle. For example, an offside occurs when a team member is closer to the goalie then a team member. This rule prevents forwards awaiting long passes and gives rise to an indirect free kick. Fouls may also cause injury to another teammate.

Substitutions

The use of extra substitutes in soccer matches was brought about by a recent coronavirus pandemic, and it has recently been formally written into the rules of the game. At this year's World Cup, coaches are allowed to use up five substitutes per game. It is a good development for both coaches and players. However, it is important that you remember that soccer favors the most experienced players. It can be difficult to find the right combination.

Slide tackling

In soccer, there are many important rules for slide tackling. A slide tackle is a tactic that allows you to grab the ball from your opponent and hold it. The attacker must not let his or her foot touch the opponent's leg. If the ball escapes from the slide tackle, then the attacker must immediately dribble it to a teammate. The attacker may not kick the ball.
